Our course in Dominica and Guadeloupe focuses on History, Culture, and Anthropology in the Caribbean as well as the development and conservation of the islands. We combine classroom learning, practical application of skills, home stays, hands on service learning. Students also participate in sea kayaking, snorkeling, sailing and a discover scuba experience.

Qualifications for these positions include the following:

Teach students about Caribbean Culture and history, and lead them through community service projects.

Course Description:

Course focuses on French language development and increasing awareness of social, environmental and cultural issues in the communities we explore in the French West Indies. The course combines classroom learning, practical application of skills, home stays, cultural activities, adventure activities and service learning.

Qualifications for these positions include the following:

French fluency and experience working with teens required.
Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certification required.

Course Description:

Broadreach, a leader in adventure and educational experiences for teenagers, operating trips in over 30 different countries, is accepting resumes for an International Adventure Programmer. The position is not currently open, but we will hold resumes for a pending position open in early Fall. We are seeking a motivated individual to help plan and coordinate logistics for our international courses for middle school, high school and college students. Duties will include but are not limited to planning and organizing our adventure travel programs, budgeting, coordinating logistics, liaising with summer trip leaders and in-country contacts, and assisting with development of new program ideas. Course Description:

The Broadreach College Sailing and Leadership Course is designed to combine traditional academic lessons, with opportunities for experiential learning in the Caribbean. The Leadership instructor is responsible for teaching a 2-credit college course in leadership to a small group of college students. Topics include: Leadership styles, Group dynamics, Decision making, Teaching, Ethics and Motivation. In addition to academic responsibilities, instructors will be responsible for facilitating group dynamic, communicating with headquarters, and being a role model for students. Master’s or PhD in a related field of study required.
Experience teaching marine science at the high school or college level.
Ability to teach college level marine science courses, including hands-on academics, labs and field survey techniques.

Course Description:

Courses focus on hands-on study in a topic of natural science such as primatology or African wildlife. The courses combine classroom learning, practical application of skills, labs and field survey techniques, along with cultural activities, service learning and adventure activities.
In addition to teaching, instructors live with students and facilitate positive group dynamics, personal growth, adventure activities and leadership development.

Qualifications for these positions include the following:

Master's or PhD in related field of study (i.e. primatology, wildlife, climate change, ecology, etc.)
Experience teaching natural science at the high school or college level.
Ability to teach college level science courses, including hands-on academics, labs and field survey techniques.
International travel and trip leading experience preferred.
Experience with the activities included on the program preferred. Activities may include hiking, sea kayaking, and snorkeling.

Qualifications for these positions include the following:

Broadreach seeks Active Teaching Status PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors to teach teens and college students for summer programs.
Valuable skills include: Experience working with teens or young adults; organizational skills; excellent communication skills; a flexible teaching style; operational knowledge of air compressors, tank filling and basic field repair of dive gear; and small boat handling skills. Specialty teaching certifications, experience working as a dive guide and a background in marine biology are preferred.
Job assignment is not limited to duties as an OWSI instructor, but include general duties of a Broadreach Instructor. Responsibilities include assisting students with day-to-day tasks (i.e. food preparation, leading a group of peers), course leadership, group facilitation, logistics and paperwork.
Flexible location assignment is required. Most seasonal staff work in our Caribbean programs during their first year with us. For other trip lead locations, we typically require one season of teaching experience with Broadreach, as well as teaching experience with AOW, Rescue and Specialties.

Photography expert needed to teach students technical and artistic aspects of digital photography in Panama. The course combines classroom learning, practical application of skills, cultural activities, adventure activities and service learning.
In addition to teaching photography, instructors live with students and facilitate positive group dynamics, personal growth, adventure activities and leadership development.

Qualifications for these positions include the following:

Master’s or PhD in Fine Arts, Photography or a related field required.
Experience teaching photography at the high school or college level.
Proficiency in digital production, editing and Photoshop.
International travel and trip leading experience preferred.
Experience with the activities included on the program preferred. Activities include sea kayaking, whitewater rafting, rock climbing, surfing and hiking.

Course Description:

Instructors guide students as they earn their Wilderness First Responder Certification, learn about public health, and complete community service projects in Belize.

Course Description:

Broadreach, a downtown Raleigh office, seeks a motivated individual to drive our Sales efforts. This is a temporary part-time position based in Raleigh, North Carolina with some national travel and potential for international travel with an immediate start date available.

Course Description:

Instructors should understand that their duties far exceed just "skippering" a yacht. Captains are expected to help out in all aspects of the program from scuba diving, to water-skiing, to chaperoning teenagers 24/7, to setting up base camp. These responsibilities also include working on outboards, dinghy repairs, construction, stocking food, repairing gear, running errands, and inventory. They are also expected to support the dive instructor on board, for example by filling tanks and helping with dinghy transport.

Qualifications for these positions include the following:

Licensed US Coast Guard Captain, Yacht Master or equivalent experience.
Operate a yacht over 45 feet, from standard operations to sail training.
Small boat handling skills. You will be expected to regularly operate RIBs and small boats with 6hsp to 50 hp outboards.
Ability to confidently anchor in tight anchorages, maneuver in tight harbors under power and understand basic yacht and diesel engine maintenance.
Experience in overnight sailing trips/deliveries/chartering.
Experience working with teens and young adults preferred.
Knowledge of sailing rules of the road to teach sailing certifications to students.
Knowledge of course plotting and coastal navigation to teach students.

Course Description:

Master's or PhD degree in Spanish language and/or culture highly preferred.
Ability to teach teenagers about Spanish language and culture.
Strong Spanish language skills and experience working with teens.
Experience leading and coordinating community service projects preferred.
Ability to coordinate lessons taught by local language schools with the Broadreach curriculum.

Course Description:

Surf instructor needed to guide a summer program for teens in Costa Rica, Belize and Panama. In addition to teaching surfing, leaders live with students and facilitate positive group dynamics, personal growth, adventure activities and leadership development.

Qualifications for these positions include the following:

Experience teaching surfing in a variety of conditions (shore break, reef break, point breaks) required.
International travel experience required.
Ocean Lifeguard experience strongly preferred.

Course Description:

Course Description:

Leaders live with students and facilitate positive group dynamics, personal growth, adventure activities and leadership development in various program locations. Program locations include the Caribbean, Central America, South America, South Africa, France and Canada.

Qualifications for these positions include the following:

Experience leading teens or college students in wilderness environments. (The candidate should have at least 60 days of accumulated course time as a trip leader, with individual trip lengths that are a minimum of six days.)
Solid experience leading the activities offered on the course, which may include hiking, camping, horseback riding, rafting, surfing, canoeing, and sea kayaking.
Experience facilitating a group and understanding group facilitation concepts.
Language fluency or advanced proficiency in the language spoken at the program location (Spanish or French) is preferred for all programs and required for language immersion programs.
College degree preferred.
