Course Description:
- Course focuses on French language development and increasing awareness of social, environmental and cultural issues in the communities we explore in the French West Indies. The course combines classroom learning, practical application of skills, home stays, cultural activities, adventure activities and service learning.

- International Adventure Programmer

Course Description:
- Broadreach, a leader in adventure and educational experiences for teenagers, operating trips in over 30 different countries, is accepting resumes for an International Adventure Programmer. The position is not currently open, but we will hold resumes for a pending position open in early Fall. We are seeking a motivated individual to help plan and coordinate logistics for our international courses for middle school, high school and college students. This is a full-time position based at our office located in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina. We are looking for an addition to our team of fun, hardworking, adventurous employees.
- Candidate should be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and possess excellent interpersonal skills. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are a must. Strong computer skills are essential. Extensive international travel experience and experience working with teens preferred. Must possess the ability to work independently and proactively within the organization. Must be well organized and flexible.
- Duties will include but are not limited to planning and organizing our adventure travel programs, budgeting, coordinating logistics, liaising with summer trip leaders and in-country contacts, and assisting with development of new program ideas. Additional daily tasks such as speaking to prospective students and parents and offering a vibrant, positive and helpful attitude to inquiries are also required. Scuba diving, sailing, and/or outdoor wilderness adventure experience a plus.

Course Description:
- The Broadreach College Sailing and Leadership Course is designed to combine traditional academic lessons, with opportunities for experiential learning in the Caribbean. The Leadership instructor is responsible for teaching a 2-credit college course in leadership to a small group of college students. Topics include: Leadership styles, Group dynamics, Decision making, Teaching, Ethics and Motivation. In addition to academic responsibilities, instructors will be responsible for facilitating group dynamic, communicating with headquarters, and being a role model for students. - Open Water SCUBA Instructors

Qualifications for these positions include the following:
- Broadreach seeks Active Teaching Status PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors to teach teens and college students for summer programs.
- Valuable skills include: Experience working with teens or young adults; organizational skills; excellent communication skills; a flexible teaching style; operational knowledge of air compressors, tank filling and basic field repair of dive gear; and small boat handling skills. Specialty teaching certifications, experience working as a dive guide and a background in marine biology are preferred.
- Job assignment is not limited to duties as an OWSI instructor, but include general duties of a Broadreach Instructor. Responsibilities include assisting students with day-to-day tasks (i.e. food preparation, leading a group of peers), course leadership, group facilitation, logistics and paperwork.
- Flexible location assignment is required. Most seasonal staff work in our Caribbean programs during their first year with us. For other trip lead locations, we typically require one season of teaching experience with Broadreach, as well as teaching experience with AOW, Rescue and Specialties.

- Photography expert needed to teach students technical and artistic aspects of digital photography in Panama. The course combines classroom learning, practical application of skills, cultural activities, adventure activities and service learning.

- Broadreach, a downtown Raleigh office, seeks a motivated individual to drive our Sales efforts. This is a temporary part-time position based in Raleigh, North Carolina with some national travel and potential for international travel with an immediate start date available.

- Skipper or Sailing Captain

Course Description:
- Instructors should understand that their duties far exceed just "skippering" a yacht. Captains are expected to help out in all aspects of the program from scuba diving, to water-skiing, to chaperoning teenagers 24/7, to setting up base camp. These responsibilities also include working on outboards, dinghy repairs, construction, stocking food, repairing gear, running errands, and inventory. They are also expected to support the dive instructor on board, for example by filling tanks and helping with dinghy transport.
- Licensed US Coast Guard Captain, Yacht Master or equivalent experience.
- Operate a yacht over 45 feet, from standard operations to sail training.
- Small boat handling skills. You will be expected to regularly operate RIBs and small boats with 6hsp to 50 hp outboards.
- Ability to confidently anchor in tight anchorages, maneuver in tight harbors under power and understand basic yacht and diesel engine maintenance.
- Experience in overnight sailing trips/deliveries/chartering.
- Experience working with teens and young adults preferred.
- Knowledge of sailing rules of the road to teach sailing certifications to students.
- Knowledge of course plotting and coastal navigation to teach students.

Course Description:
- Leaders live with students and facilitate positive group dynamics, personal growth, adventure activities and leadership development in various program locations. Program locations include the Caribbean, Central America, South America, South Africa, France and Canada.
- Experience leading teens or college students in wilderness environments. (The candidate should have at least 60 days of accumulated course time as a trip leader, with individual trip lengths that are a minimum of six days.)
- Solid experience leading the activities offered on the course, which may include hiking, camping, horseback riding, rafting, surfing, canoeing, and sea kayaking.
- Experience facilitating a group and understanding group facilitation concepts.
- Language fluency or advanced proficiency in the language spoken at the program location (Spanish or French) is preferred for all programs and required for language immersion programs.
