COURSE DESCRIPTION
The Instructor Development Course is PADI's preparatory course that must be passed to be eligible to take the Instructor Examination to become a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI). This course entails learning how to teach PADI courses academically as well as practically in the water. This course is accredited through The American Council on Education (ACE) for 3 credits in Physical Education.

COURSE OBJECTIVES
- To be able to present knowledge development teaching presentations from Discover Scuba Diver through Divemaster courses.
- To be able to clearly demonstrate and teach confined open water skills of the Open Water Diver Course.
- To be able to clearly demonstrate skills and conduct training dives for Adventures in Diving through Divemaster.
- To pass all written exams with a 75% or better in preparation for the Instructor Examination.

FIELD STUDIES & EXERCISES
- Water Skills Assessment: 800 meter nonstop swim using mask, snorkel and fins.
- Perform all 20 dive skills in the Skill Evaluation with no score below 3.
