Uganda Gorilla & Chimpanzee Conservation

Uganda Gorilla & Chimpanzee Conservation

Venture to the 'Pearl of Africa' and experience a rare opportunity to witness gorillas in their natural habitat and contribute to ongoing primate research and conservation efforts to help ensure the survival of this critically endangered species.

Explore the habits and behaviors of primates and how conservation policies have impacted their livelihood. Learn about the challenges facing protected areas and the unique animals that live within their bounds. Gain hands-on experience with chimpanzees while living and volunteering at a rescue center. Then, learn observation and research techniques during difficult jungle treks in search of primates in the wild. Develop a research focus and carry out a project with the support of local resources. Throughout your work with conservationists, guides, and researchers, gain a deeper understanding of the impact of conservation efforts on primates and wildlife across Uganda.

“I learned a lot about conservation and increased my passion for animals. I will never forget all the amazing things I learned, saw and did here.” — Nikki M., Leesburg, VA
